Most of my disgust coming from the constant screaming of "socialism" and other tripe coming from those who disagree with the health care proposal. My favorites are those who decry the president's supposed socialist policies, then say with their next breath, "Don't touch my Medicare!" I guess they don't grasp the concept. And don't get me going on the birthers and tea partiers.

Being disabled, I have to deal with the medical establishment quite often. A few years back I actually had to make the choice to either pay bills or buy badly needed meds and see my doctor. (Thank goodness I'm in a better life position now). You don't want to know how much my back surgery cost. So I can verify the current system is broken. Badly broken.

Something needs to be done, and I'm THRILLED with President Obama for trying to change the old and busted status quo.

satchel - ed. dept. comments on Quentin Tarantino Reviews the Movie I Watched Last Night

d'oh! I love listening to ta'rant'tino rant about film! must watch sunshine again - oh, yeah, I owe it - snap. Yes, the third act gets predictable - reminded me a lot of event horizon and, of course, a bunch of other films but didn't bother me as much (as it did you and tarantino) - maybe because I couldn't think of a better, more interesting alternative. maybe with this next viewing I'll think of something but, in its defense, it does stay true to the theme of 'flying to close to the sun' (har!) - i.e. man exceeding his abilities, trying to be godlike, that old chestnut of sci-fi, etc.

Big Al comments on Strut That Gut!

I lose 30 pounds and my gut, but to be "hip," I should have kept the poundage?
